B. Submissions must follow the monthly theme as suggested by the RBU editorial staff.
C. Submission may either be poetry (no longer than 50 lines in length including line breaks), prose (up to 2,000 words), or pictorial* (up to 3 images so that the submitter can tell a story with a beginning, middle, and ending. Images must be either the property of the submitter or proper acknowledgement to the owner must be provided).
*We prefer all images be attached individually as .jpg files along with submissions for consideration as well as a note AT THE OPENING OF THE SUBMISSION stating that there are images the editing staff needs to be aware of so we can contact the author should there be any issues with the image submissions. We will edit out this information prior to the submission being posted.
However, we do realize many people use 3rd Party hosting sites to store their images which requires a unique HTML code be used to have those images appear on our site. Should this be the case with a submission, we kindly ask that it is noted AT THE OPENING OF THE SUBMISSION so we will be sure to capture the HTML code and properly embed it on our site and so that we can contact the author should there be any issues with the image submissions. We will edit out this information prior to the submission being posted.
Amended June 16, 2010
D. Submission of photos to go along with a particular piece of prose or poetry is acceptable and may include more than 3 items if the article so warrants it. But the editorial staff has the right to cut any images that are superfluous and do not lend themselves to progressing the post. Likewise, RBU: TGB cannot accept multiple submissions from the same author which are intended to be stand alone submissions. Essentially, one member-one submission per month.
E. The editorial staff of RBU: TGB strongly encourages RBU members who wish to submit to send in original pieces written specifically for the group blog. However, previous postings from a blogger’s home site will not be rejected so long as the submission fits the overall theme.
F. Intellectual Rights to all submissions will always remain with the author and not RBU.
G. The following will NOT be accepted...ever:
a. Pornographic, lewd or lascivious submissions. Profanity should be kept to a minimum as RBU:TGB is read by a variety of people; however, the use of profanity will be permitted if it is determined by the editorial staff to be of significant importance to the overall nature of the submission.
b. 'Hate' submissions (no gay bashing, religion slurring, etc...)
c. Extreme right wing or left wing oriented submissions... RBU is not started a political forum nor does it support any one political ideology.
H. The editors of RBU:TGB will make an effort to notify all those who submit letting them know that their submission was received. Likewise they will contact the author should they feel that major editorial changes need to be made; small errors will be corrected by RBU:TGB when needed.
I. Please note: Submission of an article for RBU: TGB that meets the aforementioned guidelines does not guarantee that the submission will be published. In such cases, the editors of RBU:TGB will make a concerted effort to contact the author to let them know that their submission will not be appearing in the coming month’s edition.
J. RBU:TGB reserves the right to amend these guidelines as needed to help maintain the overall growth of the blog.
